Seamatica Aerospace Limited is an aerospace company based in St. John’s, Newfoundland.  We specialize in the development of systems with the goal to make the operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) safe, effective and commercially viable. Our tagline is “Safer Skies” for both manned and unmanned aircraft, and this philosophy is central to everything we do. More details may be found elsewhere on our website.

We consider applicants worldwide and will consider working off-site on a temporary probationary basis.  All successful applicants will relocate to St. John’s, Newfoundland Canada and we will assist all successful applicants outside Canada to obtain the necessary work permits to work in Canada.  We also encourage and support our employee to pursue advanced degrees, including PhD at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Current Opportunities:

Embedded System Engineer
Description:

Responsible for development of FPGA, ARM or Microcontroller program/driver.

Requirements:

A Master or Undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering or related area

Technical Competencies:
1) In-depth knowledge of PFGA or Arm programming and implementation of FPGA/ARM oriented applications;
2) Proficient in Verilog/VHDL or C++;
3) Knowledge of soft defined radio development is an asset;
4) Experience of FPGA/ARM system development is an asset;
5) Experience in Xilinx FPGA development is an asset;
6) Experience in real-time digital signal processing using FPGA is an asset.

Signal Processing Algorithms Development Engineer
Description:

Responsible for development of digital signal processing algorithms。

Requirements:

A Master or Undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering or related area

Technical Competencies:
1) Has the background of digital signal processing;
2) Proficient in Matlab, C++;
3) Experience in design and apply real-time digital signal processing algorithms using embedded system is an asset;
4) Experience of using vivado HLS/system generator for signal processing development is an asset.

RF/Antenna Engineer
Description:

Responsible for development of RF circuit and antenna system。

Requirements:

A Master or Undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering or related area

Technical Competencies:
1) Has the background of RF engineering;
2) Hand-on experience in complex RF circuit design and simulation;
3) Experience in radar system or microwave system design is an asset;
4) Experience in RF simulation and circuit design using ADS is an asset;

PCB Design Engineer
Description:

Responsible for development of customized PCB。

Requirements:

A Master or Undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering or related area

Technical Competencies:
1) Proficient in PCB design software such as Cadence, PADS or Altium designer;
2) Has complete experience in designing embedded processing system PCB from schematic design, layout design to board debug and testing;
3) Experience in Cadence or PADS software is an asset;

Signal processing scientist
Description:

Responsible for development of signal processing algorithms。

Education:

A Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering or related area

Technical Competencies:
1) Proficient in digital signal processing;
2) Proficient in Matlab/python, C++;
3) Conducting research on radar signal processing or detect and avoid algorithms for aviation;
4) Experience of developing complete signal processing algorithms, such as MTI and tracking algorithms, using computer.
5) Strong research capability. The applicant should be able to complete a full development cycle, including requirements investigation, algorithms design and programming for a given application.

Postdoctoral position in Signal processing
Description:
